Blackaby Ministries International is sad to announce the recent passing of Clay Quattlebaum at his daughter’s home in Burleson, Texas. Clay was a long-time friend of the Blackaby family and a faithful and steadfast supporter of Blackaby Ministries International.
“He was like a big brother to me when I was in college,” Marilyn remembers. “When he and Lois got married, I played the organ at their wedding! It was a wonderful, wonderful friendship. We thank God for that friendship. They have been like family to us.”
After Henry started Blackaby Ministries International, the Quattlebaums felt God leading them to move to Atlanta at their own expense to help with the ministry.
“Of all the people I have known over the years, no one had a greater servant’s heart than Clay,” noted Henry Blackaby. “Whether it was volunteering to pick Marilyn and me up at the airport, serving on the board, manning a book table, or driving me to a speaking venue, Clay was always willing and always the epitome of humility. I will miss him greatly.”
Clay Quattlebaum made a lasting impact on BMI and the entire ministry team.
“One of the great privileges I have had in ministry over the years is to work with some of God’s finest servants,” Richard Blackaby, BMI President, said. “Clay was one of God’s very best. He was always laughing and never complained. He was always willing to work to help others to increase, even while he was content to decrease. Truly, his reward in heaven will be great.”

Both Clay and Lois were friends of Jesus, too. They served Him faithfully in countless ways!
Their love and admiration for each other inspired others.
As part of the Savior’s Kingdom, Clayton resembled Jesus in words and in deeds.
Our hearts are praying for Lois!
