For almost four years I’ve seen a powerful work of God within a prison located near Newton, Iowa. I have been reminded that the promises Jesus made in the scriptures would be fulfilled today in our presence. Jesus said “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” (Luke 4:18-19 NIV) Jesus is today preaching good news to the poor and providing spiritual freedom and sight for those who are spiritually blind. Men who have been oppressed are being released. This has been a work of the Lord’s favor to each of these men. When Henry came to the prison to speak, God brought a powerful Word. It was as if God was saying, “If you believe in me you will see the glory of God. If you continue with me you will see all that God has purposed for your life.” I have listened to this audio 5 or 6 times since I heard Henry in person. Each time I listen the message has become more powerful. If God can bring such a word of encouragement to these inmates, I am convinced he will do the same for those who listen to this powerful Word from the Lord.
